"Shanghai Speed" will be set up in a demonstration area one year, creating the only domestic 5G autonomous driving experience
In April 2019, SAIC planned the development route of 5G era in a forward-looking way and signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on 5G Smart Transport Demonstration Project with Jiading District Government, Huawei and China Mobile, which kicked off the construction of the world's first 5G smart transport demonstration Area. Relying on saic's innovative achievements in 5G smart Transportation, combining with the intelligent infrastructure in Shanghai International Auto City, and cooperating with the basic operation and industrial chain resources of China Mobile and Huawei,R Auto 5G smart transportation Demonstration Zone was built and opened in just one and a half years, demonstrating the "Shanghai speed" of high efficiency and high quality.
At present, the park has opened and tested roads covering 65 square kilometers, with a total of 53.6 kilometers. It has completed the construction of 47 5G base stations in the core area of Shanghai International Auto City, steadily advanced the construction of intelligent roads at 68 information and control junctions, and realized the implementation of technologies such as 5G remote autonomous parking, V2X and automatic driving function linkage for the first time. After its opening, the park will provide the public with innovative experiences such as 5G autonomous driving Tours, V2X smart transportation Tours and 5G video interactive sharing Tours, so that the public can experience the ease and convenience of smart transportation in advance.
At the docking point, the public can wake up the experience car with one click of their mobile phones and automatically call the car to their side; When approaching the intersection, the vehicle will receive the real-time phase information sent by the signal lamp in advance, and automatically adjust the driving speed for smooth passage. When the experience car meets a pedestrian in the moving lane, the sensor will detect and predict its moving trajectory. If there is a risk of collision, the car will slow down, follow the car or brake in advance, and continue to drive after confirming that there is no risk. When the current car breaks down, the experiencing car will receive the location information broadcast by the disabled car in advance and in real time, slow down in advance to approach the disabled car and bypass it. In addition, in case of intersection conflict, speed limit, bridge, etc., the experience car will adjust its speed by itself based on the information broadcast by roadside facilities to ensure safe passage, without driver operation in the whole process. Back to the parking lot, the vehicle will automatically enter the parking space through the mobile phone operation, so as to avoid the tedious manual parking garage.
